Ash Scatterings and Burials at Sea

Captain Dave's Dolphin & Whale Safari provides the opportunity to disperse ashes at sea off of the beautiful Orange County coast from the peace and comfort of a private boat.

We can accommodate up to 49 people and you may tailor the trip as you would like. Some folks prefer a short one-hour cruise and we can do that. Others like a longer trip where we look for dolphins while some prefer to have us take them to a special spot. Whatever you would like is what we'll try to do. We have a sound system on board (Manute'a) so you can play your favorite music. We can also provide beverages and snacks or you can bring your own. You may want to bring flowers (no wires please) and a basket for the ashes (only the ashes can be dispersed, not the container).

A personalized certificate containing the date and coordinates of the service will be provided at no additional cost.

On the day of the charter you will need to have the Application and Permit for Disposition of Human Remains from the local registrar of births and deaths. If the cremation was done in California it should have been provided with the ashes. Otherwise, you'll need to contact the Orange County Health Care Agency at 714-480-6700 to obtain the burial permit. It can usually be picked up same-day at their Santa Ana location.

Prices for our boats are as follows:

DolphinSafari.com .............. Up to 24 passengers........$540 for the first hour, $270 for each additional half hour

Manute'a .......................... Up to 49 passengers........$1,040 for the first hour, $520 for each additional half hour.
